The Northwest Indiana Saddlebred Association, Inc. is a group of Saddlebred riders, breeders, owners, trainers, and lovers wanting to promote Saddlebreds as great all-around horses. And we believe that everyone’s first horse could and should be an American Saddlebred—the horse that America built.

Purposes of the Club (NWISA) include:

  • The promotion of American Saddlebreds (ASBs) as pleasure, show, trail horses that can compete and excel in all disciplines.
  • The understanding that although ASBs are animated, they are willing partners and aim to please.
  • The ideas that riding and showing should and must be enjoyable to all parties—horses included.
  • The inclusion into the local-area horse scene through outreach and education about the breed.

NWISA Projects include

  • The creation of ASB-sanctioned classes at local shows and the hosting of club-created shows.
  • Participation in local horse fairs and 4H clubs.
  • Education and outreach about the breed.
